Inspired by the view from the Peachland waterfront near my home, facing south. This view is always in my head and I am very okay with that, so I figure I may as well share it as broadly as possible.
These canvases were carefully stretched by hand and prepared with transparent gesso by yours truly. The initial layers of paint are fluid acrylic with marks made in oil paint stick overtop these layers. The paintings come protected with two layers of satin varnish and ready to hang in solid Maplewood frames.

A minimalistic landscape collection centred around acceptance, hope, and trust in the process.
Something about these times has drawn me back to fluid acrylics. The unpredictability of the water and paint mixing together on the canvas creating an outcome just outside of my control is just what I need right now. Not knowing quite how anything will end up, knowing fully that there will be failures, and still believing that in the end there will be something beautiful.
In all the uncertainty, there is still hope, there is still trust.
These scenes are all based loosely on the Okanagan Lake, mostly here in Peachland. The view that has kept me grounded during all this uncertain time spent at home. The beauty of these abstract landscapes though, is they they could be any number of places, maybe a place that only exists in your heart.
Size: 12” x 24” x 0.75” canvas - approx. 13” x 25” x 1.5” with floater frame
Medium: Acrylic paint and oil paint stick on clear gessoed canvas. Initialed on the front, signed and titled on the back. Framed and ready to hang in a solid maplewood floater frame.
