There is just something magical that happens when you go for a walk in the woods. I can't really describe what it is, but it changes the way you sense the world around you. I never want to stop seeking that feeling.

This painting was inspired by a photo that Sergei Turner recently shared. The intense chartreuse of the forest floor in his capture was something I'd never imagined as a natural colour. It wasn't until I'd started this painting that I looked over at the collection of lichen I keep on my windowsill and realized it was a perfect match. So there you have it. Inspiration comes in many forms, internal and external, and is always the culmination of the experiences of all of our senses.

Size: 8” x 10” x 1.5”

Medium: acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas. Initialed on the front, signed and titled on the back. Ready to hang.
