This sunny meadow was painted from a photograph I took along the drive between LA and Santa Barbara during the 2017 superbloom. Originally painted in 2021 and titled “Becoming”, I returned to the painting making significant changes to the sky and colour scheme in 2024. The original never felt quite right but it took 3 years to figure out. Becoming, as popularized by Michelle Obama’s book, is a process never complete.

Medium: Oil paint on premier gallery wrapped canvas. Signed on the front, signed and titled on the back. Ready to hang.
