"Escape From Expectation" - 8x10 inch framed mixed media painting on canvas

$175.00

“Escape From Expectation” by Melanie Fenton - 2022

Inspired by the little uninhabited Isla Contoy off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. This place is sanctuary to tropical birds and truly a quiet island escape. We traveled here in February 2020 as I was on the brink of making a major life decision. That decision was too hard to make in the midst of the expectations of life as it should have been, but getting away for a while suddenly made everything completely clear.

About The Escapes Collection:

In the long, cold days of January, I needed and escape. So, I took off for Mexico and California, reliving some recent vacations, splashing fluid acrylics around like the waves of the ocean and scribbling oil paint like lines in the sand.’

These paintings are an invitation to step away and take a breath, not to run away, but to escape for a moment, to find rest, to find clarity, to find peace again.

Size: 8” x 10” x 0.75” canvas - approx. 9” x 11” x 1.5” with floater frame

Medium: Oil paint layered over fluid acrylic paint on clear-gessoed raw canvas. Initialed on the front, signed and titled on the back. Framed and ready to hang in a solid maplewood floater frame.

Note that colours may vary from screen to screen.

*Shipping to US or Canada: select “Small Original Painting” at checkout.

Please allow up to 4 weeks for me to varnish, frame and carefully pack and ship orders. Allow an additional 1-2 weeks for delivery via Canada Post. All orders are shipped with tracking.
