"Evolving" - 30x40 inch oil painting

$900.00

“Evolving” original oil landscape painting by Melanie Fenton - 2021

*This painting is currently on display at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre community art wall. The art is available for sale directly though me, contact for more info or purchase here and I will follow up via email with details. If you’d like to see the work in person please visit the centre!

This vibrant meadow is a view from the Allan Brooks Nature Centre in Vernon, BC and features one of my favourite wildflowers, yarrow.

Size: 30” x 40” x 1.5”

Medium: Oil paint on premier gallery wrapped canvas. Signed on the front, signed and titled on the back. Ready to hang.

About the Okanagan Landscapes:

I have created this work during a personally difficult and tiring time. I’ve tried to articulate what this journey has meant to me by journaling throughout the process. The words that came out were “my strength and vulnerability is in this work…This work is not about pushing boundaries or diving into the unknown. It is about letting my weary soul be cradled by the familiar. Letting home nurture me and carry me through the hard bits.” The Okanagan landscape is a comfort to me. I’ve only lived here two years but it just feels like home to me. It calms and reassures me. I hope I can share that with others through this show.⁣

This piece was painted in 2021 as part of The Emerging Collection but fit so well with the theme of this show I included them in the exhibition.

About The Emerging Collection (2021)

The paintings in this collection capture the return to life that comes each spring. These large canvases embody the energy and life contained in the spring and summer landscape. They have taught me a great deal in my artistic process, about patience, and about finding joy.
