My favourite part of a hike is never the destination or the viewpoint, its always the details along the way. This painting captures just that, a lovely moment along the trail to view Naramata Falls in Naramata, BC.

About the Okanagan Landscapes:
I have created this work during a personally difficult and tiring time. I’ve tried to articulate what this journey has meant to me by journaling throughout the process. The words that came out were “my strength and vulnerability is in this work…This work is not about pushing boundaries or diving into the unknown. It is about letting my weary soul be cradled by the familiar. Letting home nurture me and carry me through the hard bits.” The Okanagan landscape is a comfort to me. I’ve only lived here two years but it just feels like home to me. It calms and reassures me. I hope I can share that with others through this show.
